Church of St.Nicholas in Brzeg came into being in 1370-1420. It was built in the place of former brick building, mentioned in sources from 1279. The authorities of the town ordered a project at master Gunther who repeated pattern of churches of Wrocław.
Nearby Długa Street, not far from the Market Place, there is a magnificent gothic basilica with 3 naves. It was built between 1370-1417, and in the second half of XIX century, the tower was raised. From the preserved church monuments, there can be distinguished: bourgeois epitaphs, a gothic triptych from 1500 or wonderful gothic polychromy. The Route of Polychromy of Brzeg starts there, going further through surrounding places.
