The Church was built in the 15th century.
The temple was consecrated only in 1556. Damaged during the Mongol invasion in 1624, it was renovated in 1646 and 1699 (brick vesrty was added then). Further renovations took place in the 18th and in the second half of the 19th century (south chapel was added). A major reconstruction and expansion of the Church took place in 1898-1900 (extension of the nave towards the west, south chapel and new porch added, reconstruction of vesrty, reconstruction of roofs). In 1932, the Church walls were covered with polychromy by artist Włodzimierz Lisowski of Sanok. In the twentieth century, the Church was renovated twice: in 1950s and in 1980s.
