The parish in Łukawiec was established under the Decree of the Bishop Wacław Hieronim Sierakowski in 1754. In the same year, the construction of the existing Church had started. The temple was completed in 1756.
According to local tradition, the Church was purchased and moved from Narol. The temple was renovated many times. During the renovation in 1948-1950, the form of the bell towers was changed. In 1952 the interior was decorated with frescos by Marian Stroński. Last renovated (formwork and shingle replacement and extension of the atrium) took place in 1974-1975. An important event was the installation in 1965 on the main altar of the miraculous image of Our Lady of Grace Nursing of Sick previously worshiped in Tartaków near Sokal (early seventeenth century). The picture was crowned in 1991 by Pope John Paul II and it is now placed in the new parish Church.
