Belongs to a small group of old historical sites in Bydgoszcz. A post-Bernardine late gothic and renaissance Church.
It was built in 1552-1557, under king’s Sigismund August’s consent thanks to the support of Koscielecki family. It has been destroyed and reconstructed many times. Since 1860 it has served the function of a garrison Church of the Prussian and then the Polish army. We may see the oldest preserved 17th century polychromies in this Church, as well as a Rococo ambo and interesting ceilings. Next to the Church, buildings of a former Bernardine Church which currently belong to The University of Technology and Life Sciences in Bydgoszcz are located.
