Experts of the subject recognise the rampart on the river Warta as one of the biggest and most interesting medieval fortified settlements in central Poland.
In Konopnica, located on a high bank of the river Warta there are remnants of an old, cone-shaped rampart known as “The Castle”. It was inhabited between the 13th and the first half of the 14th centuries. Experts of the subject recognise it as one of the biggest and most interesting medieval fortified settlements in central Poland. From the rampart there is a superb view over the river Warta valley.
