In 1952 local people, under the direction of priest prelate Kazimierz Łomacki, the parish-priest of Brańsk, built at Paweł Gołębiecki's Square the wooden Chapel dedicated to the Most Holy Heart of Lord Jesus.
It was consecrated on 15 July 1952. In the next year the chapel was extended. In 1954 priest Michał Krzywicki, the apostle administrator of the Pińsk diocese, gave permission to keep the Holy Sacrament in the chapel. In 1969 three bells were bought by public subscription and consecrated by priest Władysław Jędruszuk, the apostle administrator of the Pińsk diocese. From 1971 on there were performed all the holy sacraments in the chapel. On 1 August 1977 bishop Władysław Jędruszuk established an independent rectorate, separated from the Brańsk parish. It included the following villages: Chojewo, Pace and Kiersnowo. The first rector of the church was priest Jan Wasilewski, who in 1982 began the erection of the brick temple.
