On 25 July 2009, in celebration of St. James the Elder, the Apostle, in the Vatican, the papal decree was signed which gave the parish Church in Nysa the title of Pontifical Basilica - Bazilica minor, i.e. the Minor Basilica.
The Minor Basilica of Nysa is one of the largest Gothic churches in the country. The impressive building with its art treasures includes inter alia, the valuable tomb sculpture (15th - 18th century). Worth of special attention: the main altar - late Gothic and Renaissance triptych, sculpture of St. Anne from 1500, the baptismal font from the end of the 15th century. In the neighbourhood, a detached late Gothic bell-tower.
