The manor-farm complex in Jeziory Wielkie

General

Egységtípus:

Jeziory Wielkie - a village situated on an isthmus between two lakes: Bnińskie Lake and Jeziory Wielkie Lake.

The village was first mentioned in the 14th century sources, when its owners were the Doliwa family. Then Jeziory Wielkie was in the hands of the families of Poraj, Nalecz, Ponińscy, Jaraczewscy, Skorzewscy, Czarneccy and Jouann. In the village there is a manor-farm complex with a Baroque, one floor manor of the seventeenth century, farm buildings and the landscape park with the monumental avenue of hornbeam trees as well as the very old oaks and pines. An interesting fact is that in the 70's the local State Farm conducted an experimental breeding of żubroń, being a hybrid of bison and a cow.
