Among the buildings of the Old Town Market west side the neogothic building of the Main Post Office get the tourist's attention. It was built in the 1881-1894 on the german architect Johan Otzen project.

The building is richly ornamented by the picturesque multicolore architectural details and painting decorations. In the XIXth century there was on this place the Hotel of Warsaw where the emperor Napoleon Bonaparte stayed during his visit in Toruń in the 1812 - what is remined by a commemorative wall plaque.
