The monument to the heroes who died during the Ghetto Uprising in 1943 was revealed on the fifth anniversary of the start of the uprising which erupted among the ruins of the destroyed city.The different sides of monument represent different things. The monument features an inscription in Polish, Yiddish, as well as Hebrew which reads: 'The Jewish People in honour of its fighters and martyrs'.
