The house of Maria and Jerzy Kuncewicz



Villa was built in 1943-36 for Maria and Jerzy Kuncewicz according to the project of Karol Siciński

The house is a testament to the times in which it was built and the expression of the aspirations and tastes of its owners who were representatives of the Polish cultural elite. It hosted to the most important representatives and creators of social thoughts and culture of the period. A similar role the house started to play after 1956. The garden around the villa was designed by the eminent Polish naturalist John Dybowski. In February 2005, Witold Kuncewicz sold the family home to Nadwiślańskie Museum in Kazimierz Dolny.
