Under Three Crowns Hotel - Rynek Staromiejski 21 in Torun



The only one hotel in Torun, which played host to the Crowned Heads.

The Tenement house lost his gothic structure because of several renovation especially in XIXth century. It is one of the oldest roadhouse in the city. The Queen Maria Sobieska, Jan III Sobieski's widow was here with her sons - princes in 1697. The Tsar Peter Greate was her also with his son Aleksy played host by the polish king August II Strong. The patriotic meetings took place here under the Prussian rules, f.ex. in 1873 on the 400 birthday of Nicolas Copernic and on creating in 1875 Scientist Association in Torun. Actually the Neoclassical building belongs to his rightful owners brothers Peter and Jerzy Ruszkowski still leading there the hotel called this time "Three crowns".
